If you own a home or condo in the Township of Addington Highlands and want to turn it into a vacation rental property for visiting tourists, you're going to have to market your property. It's one thing to turn your Township of Addington Highlands or Port Perry real estate property into a vacation rental property but it's another thing entirely to get the word out. You need to properly market your property so people know that it's available.

First off, you need to make sure that your property is in good shape and ready for a photo shoot. You've probably seen plenty of ads for Rockwood homes for sale in listings guides so you should already be aware of how important a picture of a good looking home is. Just ask yourself how many times you've said a certain house looks ugly and that you'd never buy it. You want to avoid that. So, go around your property, remove any clutter, wash the windows, paint whatever needs to be painted, etc. Prepare your home as if you would be selling it. This is good advice for any Addington Highlands home or Toronto loft owner.

Now that your property is ready for its close-up, start taking those pictures. You don't need a state of the art digital camera but a digital camera with at least 8 mega pixels should be used. Go around the property and take as many interior and exterior pictures as possible. You're going to want to get some great photos of the main living areas. Places such as the kitchen, living room, dining room and bedrooms. These are what we like to call the "money" shots. It doesn't hurt to take photos of nearby attractions that might be of interest to tourists. Any good Royal Lepage Windsor or Addington Highlands agent will tell you that.

Now that you got your pictures, you're going to want to come up with a description of your property that's going to entice people to want to rent out your place. Look over Addington Highlands or London Ontario real estate listings and read all the home descriptions. Find the ones you like the most. That can give you an idea of what to include in yours. You're going to want to keep it short and key in on important selling features such as sleeping arrangements, nearby tourist attractions and the property's amenities.

Now that you got all that covered, you can go out and advertise your vacation property. The best place to do so would be online. One of the top sites for such a thing is VRBO.com. That stands for Vacation Rentals by Owner. Check out the site to get a feel for it and to find out advertising prices. It's a great way to get your vacation rental property out there after all the hard work you've done getting it ready. Good luck!
